Originally from Halifax, Nova Scotia, but now living in North Vancouver, British Columbia, I am a freelance professional photographer who has been taking photos for nearly 20 years. I love photography and the way you can capture the beauty of the world and vibrancy of the people around you in that one moment, and preserve it forever.
I specialize in sports action photography and event photography. I love shooting all sports, but have a particular niche shooting cycling. I have a life-long love of cycling and bike racing and many of my shots reflect this. I have been a staff photographer for the Crankworx Mountain Bike Festival in Whistler, the largest mountain bike festival in the world, for the past four years. There is nothing better than the challenge of capturing that one extraordinary moment, through the heat and the dust, or the rain and the mud, when an athlete puts it all on the line, "the thrill of victory... and the agony of defeat".
I am also concerned about issues regarding the environment and social justice, and do pro-bono work for charitable organizations. Each year and for the past four years I have been doing photography for Canuck Place Children’s Hospice at their Adventure Race in Deep Cove, British Columbia. It’s just my way of giving back and helping a worthwhile organization make a difference in our world.
